Creative Strategist & Business Director – APAC, Chimney
Mark Pickering has an unrivalled background in advertising, marketing and events. For over 25 years he has worked with the world’s biggest brands and agencies; creating, planning and delivering award-winning campaigns globally.
In the U.K. and Europe, he worked client side with drinks giant Diageo in their marketing team before consulting with the leading agencies in the region as Creative Strategist. Highlights included award-winning campaigns with Samsung, Diageo and Coke.
Returning to NZ Pickering has been involved in owning and managing a number of award-winning, independent experiential and content production agencies, starting FLUXX: Ideas in Motion (now Brand Spanking) in 2007 and last year purchasing agency Phenomenon to create the largest independent agencies of their type in the country.
Pickering continues his career journey in digital content and creativity in Singapore as creative strategist and business director for Chimney Group in the APAC region.
He is a passionate evangelist for the industry as a founding member and chair of the Communications Council of NZ’s PR, Social Media and Experiential Committee. He has regularly been selected as a senior judge at industry awards, including the Effies, AXIS and Beacon Media Awards as well as the NZ Marketing Awards.
