Ziba Kaboli-Gerbrands is an innovative and dynamic business development executive with over 20 years experience in entertainment and technology.
Kaboli is currently the director of content acquisition at Roku, where she leads negotiations with top content partners. In over four years at Roku, Kaboli has successfully negotiated licensing and distribution agreements with OTT video content publishers from a variety of verticals, including popular movie streaming services, on demand music services, and sports channels.
Prior to joining Roku, Kaboli led the business development team at Milyoni, the first social viewing platform on Facebook. Concurrently, she led a successful digital media consulting practice, working with emerging and established media companies including Fox International.
Kaboli’s entertainment background includes leadership roles at both Current TV and Time Warner’s TruTV. As the head of distribution at Current TV, she helped boost subscriber growth by over 170%. During her tenure, the network grew from 19 million U.S. homes to over 50 million homes worldwide, with launches in the U.K., Italy, and Canada.
Kaboli was honoured with the Cynopsis “Top Women in Digital” award in 2015. She is a fellow of the prestigious Betsy Magness Leadership Institute and she was honored with the Most Influential Women in Cable Television recognition in 2006 and 2007.
Kaboli is a graduate of the George Washington University, with a BA in International Business. She completed a Harvard Business School Executive Management Program in 2002.
